If the Golden Globes were about all the tulle, the Grammys gave us the va-va-boom, and The Oscars went shimmer and demure. The 2017 awards season kicked off with on a rather ‘meh’ note with the Golden Globes. We saw a lot of head-to-toe sequins, daffodil yellows and metallics. The breakout trend was definitely fairytale tulle. Feminine and romantic, yes. Statement and bold, not really.
The Grammys, however, did not disappoint! The night saw a fair share of people who got dressed to look naked. Beyonce’s barely-there, gilded goddess look exposed her bump and soul, and literally broke the Internet. Again! And so did the keyhole (can we still call it keyhole, when the cutouts are not so subtle?) cleavage trend. You can always count on the Grammys to deliver something risque and inappropriate!
And then came the Oscars. It wasn’t exactly the drama we had hoped for (*cough* award mix-up *cough*). But hey, it wouldn’t be fair to dismiss it and call it boring. Walking down the red carpet were sparkles, sleeves, slits and surprises.
