Style Check: Girls @ MTV Movie Awards 2012

I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed watching the 2012 MTV Movie Awards – worth two style checks already! Now that you’ve read about men and what they’re wearing this summer, time to render our girls some justice :)

The women’s style was upbeat and fresh – a little designer and carefully put together, if you know what I mean, as compared to the all out ready-to-wear ease the boys threw at us. That said, it was a fun mix of trends & textures. The lengths were short and colors spanned the spectrum as you’d notice! Here are some of my favourites. Retro Flavour

The prints were everywhere – from 50’s florals to psychedelic 70’s. Sporty modern prints as fitted sheath dresses and waisted frock looks – everyone is bent on trying out everything, it seems! Which are your favourites from the above look?

Rock-Star looks

Jennifer Aniston bagged the Best On-Screen Dirtbag Award for her role as a sex-crazed dentist in “Horrible Bosses”, and this  Valentino short leather dress fit that image to the tee! Colour Me Red

What’s a red carpet without some red? It was Charlize Theron’s strapless-peplum Lanvin number that did the trick for her, though her Jimmy Choo shoes couldn’t manage to add enough drama. Don’t you agree?

The Little Dresses

These gorgeous ladies kept it sweet, sexy and short! My favourite is Jessica Biel’s retro white sweater dress (Chanel) teamed with color-blocked green and white Barbara Bui sandals. Soon to be Mrs. Justin Timberlake has been sticking to the whites for quite a while now. In anticipation of the D-day? Makes us wonder!

Also spotted was…Marilyn Monroe! Kristen Prout, but hey she nearly became one ;P

 Shorts & Skirts

It wasn’t just the dresses that stole the show. These interesting flirty skirts and shorts combo along with 2-tone dresses kept us glued, too!

The Suited Chic

The pant-suits look great anytime and absolutely loved each one of these ladies in their choice of the attire. From Elizabeth Bank’s risque peek-a-boo jumpsuit with flashy-red-heeled stilettoes to the tailored jacket looks in black and white – these girls looked great!

These Are A Few Of My Favourites

Accessory-holic that I am, these interesting shoes and details caught my attention.

If you ask me, these red carpet styles are radically different from the Oscars and Globes! Music does change things :)
